Phew! 2020 has certainly been a year. We're happy to report that our area did not suffer any major damage from Hurricane Zeta, however, we're still in the midst of clean-up from Hurricane Sally. Some beaches are still closed due to safety concerns.
To help you plan ahead and enjoy as much time as possible exploring the local Gulf Shores and Orange Beach strands, we comprised a guide to current beach access.
The following public beach access points in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are open:
Gulf Shores
- Gulf Place
- West Gulf Place
- West 5th Street
- West 6th Street
- West 10th Street
- West 12th Street
- West 13th Street
- Little Lagoon Pass Park
Gulf State Park
Orange Beach
- Romar Beach – pathway adjacent to the boardwalks (boardwalks are still closed due to damage)
- Cotton Bayou – public restrooms and west boardwalk (east boardwalk is still closed due to damage)
- Alabama Point and Alabama Point East (the Shell Parking Lot east of Alabama Point)
The following public beach access points in Gulf Shores and Orange remain closed:
- Gulf State Park
- Gulf State Park Pier
- Beach access at Perdido Beach Blvd. and State Park Road 2
