Join nature enthusiasts and birders from across the U.S. for the 20th Annual Alabama Coastal BirdFest, happening from October 4-6, 2024. Hosted by the South Alabama Land Trust, this premier Gulf Coast event features expert-led birding and nature tours on foot, by boat, kayak, or bike, allowing participants to explore key wildlife areas such as Dauphin Island, Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge, and the Mobile-Tensaw Delta. The event also includes engaging workshops on topics like nature photography, bird sketching, and using birding apps. This festival is perfect for birders of all levels, offering opportunities to see the diverse species that pass through during the fall migration.

A highlight of the event is the free, family-friendly Nature Expo on Saturday, October 5, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the 5 Rivers Delta Resource Center. The Expo will feature interactive displays, games, a raptor demonstration, and touch tanks filled with aquatic creatures. It’s a fun and educational day for all ages, emphasizing the importance of conservation and protecting the Gulf Coast’s natural resources. Be sure to register early as space is limited for tours and workshops. Ticket prices for BirdFest events vary by activity, and registration is open from August 5 through September 23, 2024 (Eventbrite) (South Alabama Land Trust).
