Great location
Reviewed on 2024-08-14 by , Covington, LA United StatesConvenient location, condo very roomy, but it needs serious updating and repairs: the decor was horrific, the glass dining table not steady at all, the glass coffee table had a chunk of glass missing in the corner; one of the dining chair's legs was barely holding on, the master bath pocket door to the dressing area was missing and the shower and toilet were very close and in a small area, the floors were dirty my granddaughter's feet were black from walking around in her walker. The positive was very convenient to the beach and to unload your car, the pool area was kept nice, the mattresses were nice and it was very roomy.

Convenient with small children!
Reviewed on 2024-07-08 by Amanda W. , Deatsville, AL United StatesGround floor unit was very convenient to beach with children. Very little privacy since the patio is directly at the pool. It was so convenient that we didnt mind! Close to lots of restaurants, an awesome arcade and Walmart! Condo needs to be deep cleaned. Overall, we had an excellent stay. worst experience
Reviewed on 2023-07-29 by Karen N. , Houma , LA USHad I known the building was under construction I would have reconsidered my stay there. I was never made aware there would be construction going on there. NO ONE WANTS TO RENT A CONDO THAT IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION WHILE TRYING TO ENJOY A VACATION BREAK. We could not enjoy the patio near the poolside due to all the Hispanic works literally congregating around that area. They had plastic paper covering the tables on the patio when we arrived there. There were no signs for wet paint while unloading our things into the unit I accidentally leaned on the wall next to the door of the unit and got blue paint all over my arm. We had to keep the curtains closed the whole time. The only day we had a break from dealing with them was on Sunday. The pool had foam insulation floating in it from the construction workers and there was a oily film in the pool water. When we arrived to unload our things. Housekeeping left a swimsuit top on one of the bedroom doors. And the unit was full of fruit flies the whole time we were there. On our last night there as we were walking out to start loading up things to get ahead of ourselves we opened the door to the OWNERS with their keys trying to get in because they were told the unit was available. How can you get those dates messed up to renters?? What if it wasn't the owners trying to get in?? What if it was the next renters who would have had no other place to go?? I know I couldn't have afforded to rent something for one night down there at a decent price. Lesson well learned!!!!

Beach Vacation
Reviewed on 2023-07-13 by Mark B. , Madison, AL United StatesLiving room and dining table are glass. These are not user friendly with children. There was a corner of the coffee table with a large chip missing. All drapery is heavy and appear old.
There are three table and chair sets on the patio. It is crowded. The set of white chairs are all broken. One of the tall tables is not sturdy. Cushion stay wet on another set due to the weather.
The unit was moderately clean. If this unit was painted, refurbished and restocked it would be very nice.
Also note that the outside of the building is being refurbished/painted. Debris was scattered around and in the pool. Could be noisy.
The pool area was nice. Location at the beach was great.
The keys must be picked up at management office which was a surprise. For the past 5 or so years our vacation rentals has been keyless with the parking passes left in the unit.
This was the worst unit we have ever rented. Definitely not worth the money we paid to rent.
This unit was very dated. Faucets in the kitchen and bathrooms did not operate properly, hard to turn off water. Kitchen was not well stocked. All dishes were glass, which were not user friendly. There were not enough coffee cups and the ones there were small. Oven door slammed when using if not very very careful. Small flying bugs in the unit. <br/><br/>Living room and dining table are glass. These are not user friendly with children. There was a corner of the coffee table with a large chip missing. The condo is in a good location and I liked that it is first floor since we had kiddos. Could definitely use some updating of furnishings and the tv in the main bedroom is an old box style tv. Our view was of the pool which is much closer than the pictures on the website makes it look. Kitchen appliances do need an up grade, especially the stove and dishwasher. Rooms were very nice. It was spacious enough for the 6 of us. Our grandkids had a great first beach trip.

Condo needs some maintenance
Reviewed on 2021-10-06 by Anne C. , Kenner, LA United StatesLoved the location with easy access to the beach. The condo was very spacious, However it could use some updating. There weren't any shelves in Refridgerator, it's not level which does not allow the door to not stay open. Fans full of dust, dining chair leg broken. Broken fence around the pool pump. All the doors around the units are rusty. It's a nice place, just need some TLC.

Lots of repairs have been done since the hurricane last year and we are very appreciative of that. However, we did experience one inconvenience unrelated to any weather damage...two shelves in the refrigerator are broken. Good thing we are great “stackers” and nothing fell out on us when we opened the door. Lol

DO NOT STAY HERE!
Reviewed on 2021-08-17 by Quentin B. , Youngsville, LA United StatesIf you are between the age of 18-35 and want to have fun DO NOT STAY HERE. You are not allowed to play any form of music without someone complaining or calling security. We were yelled at by guests and one security guard who then made a very rude comment after I said I would be calling to get my money back. Construction all over the place with no heads up about it. Construction started at 7 in the morning which was extremely loud and woke us up. Our bedroom door didn’t close, they had a wet paint sign on the bedroom door that wouldn’t close, the ceiling inside was falling apart and pieces were actually falling on the ground. Sink barely drained, our code to the beach access didn’t work and neither did most people. Horrible experience.

Wonderful location. Horrible Condo.
Reviewed on 2021-07-09 by , Gonzales, LA United StatesWe weren't in the unit for 30 minutes when I noticed the children's feet were black. The floors were filthy and not just from sand. I went to pull back the curtain over the patio door and the curtain rod separated and fell, the curtain obviously too heavy for the rod. The sliding door was nearly impossible to open. The pocket door to the master bathroom off its track and it wouldn't close. The door to the vanity area was completely missing.
When a maintenance person arrived the next day he said there was nothing he could do about the pocket door or the sliding door. When we asked about the floors he remarked that "you just can't get good housekeeping these days". We ended up going to the store and buying a Swiffer mop and wet pads and mopped the floors ourselves.
There was an exposed electrical outlet -- no cover on it on a living area wall. We had small children with us and that was a very dangerous scenario!
The shower curtains were mildewed and the light in the master bathroom was so dim (and the cover had dead bugs in it) you were showering practically in the dark. There was a hole in the master bedroom door (see photograph) and the ceiling fans were caked with dust. We also killed two cockroaches while we were there. We never could find any trash chute or receptacle to place our trash, so we had to walk through the construction area and put our trash in their dumpster.
It was obviously not ready to rent because of the ongoing repairs, the safety issues, the malfunctioning items in the unit and the lack of cleanliness overall.
When we pulled into the parking lot and saw the scaffolding and barricades around the front, I was immediately concerned. There was plastic and tape around the windows, and the entrance to our condo on the first floor was dark. A leg of a steel barricade was sticking out and my 83 year old grandmother nearly tripped on it.<br/><br/>We weren't in the unit for 30 minutes when I noticed the children's feet were black. Miscommunication at its finest
Reviewed on 2021-06-14 by Misty J. , Ball Ground, GA United StatesThere was so much construction going on including half the sheet rock missing in the hallway of our rental. I understand that the area is trying to rebuild after all of Mother Nature’s events but we should be made aware that people need to come into the rental. I spoke with the project manager of the construction and he said the rental company knew. The rental company said no one told them and the maintenance man for the rental company knew they were fixing the sheet rock. I just wish everyone was on the same page.

THe shower curtains were molding at the top, the rods were worn and should be replaced, one door was missing from the MBR to the bath, the door to the MBR from the dinning area had a busted place in it, the door to the patio drug and was very hard to slide back and close, the curtain rod over the patio door was hanging by one screw, the front door knob was lose and hanging. We had problems connecting to the wifi and again I used the app and asked for help, never heard anything. I contacted the provider and was able to get one device connected but could not connect any others. The access codes for the security gate to the beach that was given to us was not correct. We got the code from other guest. The door from the beach into the building was missing. If you choose to still reside in this property, we would like to refund you one night of your stay back to the card on file as a professional courtesy. Reviewed on 2021-04-20 by , ENDEAVOR, WI United StatesWe arrived early for check in and our property wasn’t ready. Bummer, especially after driving 17 hours with 4 kids. The property was ready just before the actual check in time.
The older gentleman I spoke with at check in and a little later about internet issues was rude and condescending when he spoke to me. Also, FYI if you download the app do not use the internet password in the app, it is incorrect, go with the one on the envelope.
The condo was not the cleanest. It was surfaced clean. Very dusty and cobwebs in the corners. Floors looked clean but your feet were black if you walked around barefoot.
Tubs didn’t drain
TVs were old box tvs except the one in the living room and cable only worked in one room.
There was construction going on while we stayed. There was lots of dust and noise around the building.
I’d recommend bringing your own coffee pot. The one there was horrid.
The location is great. Lots to do in the area. The pool was small but clean. Easy access to the beach.
This was our first time to Orange Beach and it is an awesome place to vacation but next year we booked at another location.

Family Time After Dad’s Funeral
Reviewed on 2020-07-08 by Vickie P. , Starkville, AL United StatesThe condo had everything we needed, and we really enjoyed the freedom of the first floor beach access. Well-stocked, and all areas were clean, with the exception of the floor. While it had been vacuumed (no particles underfoot), our feet were blackened within 2 hours of being there, inside, barefoot. So I think the good mopping part was skipped (I just bought my own mop and bucket, and mopped it myself... but you know). But EVERYTHING else was great, so much so that I will probably try to get that exact condo again... older in structure, but greater in size and quality!

Review: This property is on the first floor and the balcony looks right out at the pool. If privacy is important, then this might not be the unit for you. The property management staff was great, helping me troubleshoot the wifi and with late check-in. All of the linen was fine, there were plenty of towels and the sheets were nice. This condo is located in a premium spot though. The walk to the beach is really short and the pool is right outside the door. For my kids this was ideal. All in all, a great stay.
Review: We enjoyed our stay at Romar Tower 1D! With 2 little ones, it was nice to be on the first level with easy access to the beach and pool. The condo was well stocked with kitchen supplies, and even provided starter necessities like toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc. so you don’t HAVE to go to the store as soon as you get there. Our only complaint was that the unit had not been deep cleaned in some time. It was surface cleaned— vacuumed, swept, mopped, bathrooms cleaned, linens changed. The showers also didn’t drain well. The decor/furnishings are dated and a bit random, but that is to be expected with a lower budget rental, and we didn’t come to the beach for condo decorations :) All in all, it was a good place for the price, especially with littles!
