Being snowbirds, we love the location and the Tropical Winds complex. The condo itself is very spacious and comfortable. However, there are a few long term maintenance issues that should be addressed. For example, the refrigerator is missing an entire shelf and the furniture, etc. is starting to show it's age. The pots and pans are wearing out and probably should be replaced. We appreciated that the owner replaced the mattress in the main bedroom for us. With a little bit of TLC this would be a fantastic condo.

Upon arrival the outside looked run down and in terrible need of a refresh. The inside of the condo was just ok. Any worse and I would have run. Luckily we travel with bathroom cleaner so we stayed. The ice maker never worked and we called 3 times. Finally the service man decided to blame us for it not working. Other than opening to see if we had ice our group touched nothing. We tried ordering rental chairs for the beach and were told Tropical Winds does not allow rentals on their property. Don’t plan on renting. We had to go purchase chairs. The unit advertised currently renovated or refreshed and the couch was at least 20 years old. AC works but was very loud, washing machine works but was so loud you could not run and watch TV in the living area at the same time. Lots of molding spots on the ceiling and just a dirty place. We will NEVER stay there again. Dog poop in the elevator on 2 different occasions. Don’t mind your dog but please clean up. Smokers at the pool and on various balconies. I have asthma with a smokers trigger so that was concerning.

This is the second time we have rented unit 601 along with unit 602. This gives our family of 11 plenty of room and access to a great beach. They are well-maintained in a fairly walkable area.

Condo was not in good shape for the cost, ocean view awesome, twin bed has hole, tub drains don’t drain well, refrigerator ice maker loud noise, maintenance never returns calls, pool code did not work, used another guests, pot smoke in other condos next door, drapes terrible

This was our third time renting this specific unit. Be aware that there isn't a lot of beach in front of this complex. Beach restoration is planned for later on in 2023. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and cookware, but the refrigerator only has two shelves and the ice maker makes a lot of noise when it cycles. There is also a separate standalone ice maker which is a great addition. The beachside king bed could use a new mattress. Also the area rug in the living room is starting to show its wear. Unit was very clean! Loved that it had an ice maker. View beautiful and beach great as it was small. Not far to walk to beach and not crowded. One elevator was plenty for the size of the condo.

We had an issue with ice maker and once reported someone came quickly to repair. Only drawback was no beach chair and umbrella service available. However, there was service next door and the attendant was nice enough to put our chairs as close to our condo as possible. Pool needed some maintenance but we didn’t spend much time there.

The condo at 601 Tropical Winds was nicely updated and we enjoyed our stay, We would definitely stay again if the beach itself wasn’t so narrow narrow and uneven to walk on. It was hard on anyone with knee issues.

We had a great time at tropical winds 601. Unit was clean. Our only negatives were: cold pool and toilet seats do not stay up. Besides that we had a lovely time. Last, make sure not to forget to put your parking pass up in the vehicle or they will tow it regardless if you are staying there.

We had a lovely condo on the 6th floor. The view of the gulf is beautiful. The condo had 3 nice size bedroom and a fold out couch which we didn’t use. The kitchen has all the pots, dishes and utensils we needed. Plenty of ice with an addition ice machine ! Loved the location to beach and many wonderful restaurants. The zoo and Alligator reserve were minutes away. We had 2 Adults, a 20yr old , 2 16 yrs old and a 12 year old. Everyone loved it!!

We came down the end of July. We arrived and were excited, overall the condo was good. It could have been cleaned better I.e. burnt fries still in the oven, more sand on the floor than there should have been but that was an easy fix.
The Condo is in a great location and the beach itself is clean, until
You get in the water. I’m not sure how often this happens but there was so much algae in the water it made you not want to swim in it.

The Tropical Winds Unit 601 was as described. It was the size of unit that we needed for our family of 7. The location was perfect very close to all we had planned to do. Good supply of cookware. Overall a good experience. Condo was well equipped. Very sc short walk to beach. Nice pool for kids. Family of 5 had plenty of room. Only cons we found was there was a horrible trash smell from the dumpster not being emptied the last 2 days and the floors were not clean but we had a great time with 3 small children

Everything about our last minute vacation to Gulf Shores was perfect. We needed a place for a family of 5 - the condo was perfect. Newly renovated, the furnishings were beautiful. The rental process could not have been any easier.
